The fourteenth-century law codex Guta lag is presented here in translation by Christine Peel. The volume includes full textual notes, including comparison with a later manuscript, a copy of a lost fifteenth-century original, and with other provincial Swedish laws.
Also included are an introduction, two manuscript reproductions, five appendices and a bibliography.
Christine Peel’s edition of Guta saga, a short historical text appended to the codex, was published as Volume XII in the Text Series in 1999, and is still available.
