The Spring meeting will be on Friday 15 March at 5pm at University College London.
Dr Katherine M. Olley (University of Nottingham) will speak on
‘Speech and Silence: Childbirth and its Aftermath in Old Norse Literature’.
The meeting will be followed by a reception. Members may bring guests.
The next meeting and annual dinner of the Society will take place at UCL on Friday 24 November. The speaker and guest of honour will be Professor Sverre Bagge, University of Bergen, who will speak on ‘Two Kings Compared: St Óláfr and Haraldr harðráði in the Sagas’.
The annual general meeting will be held at the University of Cardiff on 24 June.
The keynote speaker will be Gareth Evans, who will present on the topic ‘Towards a Poetics of Emotion in Saga Narrative’.
The Council will convene at 2pm.
