Student Conference: 15 April 2023

The Viking Society Student Conference will be in Liverpool on Saturday 15 April.

To register, please contact Clare (downham@liverpool.ac.uk) to confirm that you wish to attend, and to let her know of any dietary requirements. Payment in advance is not required but you will need to pay in cash on arrival (£10). The fee covers attendance and refreshments, plus some free books (see below). Bring some extra cash for the bookstall! There will be no card machine so cash is essential.

The Scottish Society for Northern Studies is providing a stall of free new books for delegates and there will also be a second-hand book stall (3 books for £10) at the event. Viking Society books may also be on sale.

Spring Meeting: 03 March 2023

A general meeting of the society will be held in

the Institute of Archaeology, UCL, Gordon Square 31-34, Lecture Theatre G6

on Friday, 3 March 2023 at 4.p.m.

Dr Cat Jarman will speak on ‘The Viking Age From a Bioarchaeological Perspective: What Have We Learnt?’

The Council will meet at 2.00 p.m.

Refreshments (tea and coffee) will be served from 3.15 in the Institute of Archaeology Common Room on the 6th floor.

Autumn Meeting and Dinner 2022

The next meeting and annual dinner of the Viking Society will be held on Friday, 25 November.

The guest of honour is Professor Anders Winroth (University of Oslo).
